In the investigative documentary Food, Inc. viewers learn that  corporate agriculture harasses and intimidates farmers who try to save  patented soybean seeds. This makes it difficult for local growers to  develop their own crops, which requires that seeds from the strongest  plants are saved year to year. LOVE THIS!!! I trade seeds with friends and people in the neighborhood, but I would love to see something large scale. As Monsanto et. al. continue to buy up different varieties of seed, and fewer and fewer varieties are planted, it makes our crops ever more insecure. GM food scares me, and I worry that someday soon, that will be all that is available.
